Let me reintroduce myself. My name is LL. I am a school nurse in M___. I spoke to you briefly at the Academy of Allergy Meeting in Anaheim in March.
The purpose of this letter is just to share with you how very helpful your published works have been to me and my colleagues. In December, 199*, a brand new medication policy was developed and passed by our school district. Subsequently, this same policy was taken to the Superintendents of Schools of the county for examination and possible introduction to their respective school boards in the hopes that the medication policy would be unifom for all of the schools. Your research and articles were most helpful in developing the policy and in presentation to the school's legal counsel for acceptance and certainly instrumental in having the policy adopted.
As recently as today, I again used your document "Students with Chronic Health Conditions: The School's Obligations and Liability Concerns" to facilitate planning for a child in the area of physical education.
I personally eagerly look forward to more presentations by you at future meetings or even in the school media... Your unique work is to be commended and encouraged for our quickly changing world in the area of health care.
Sincerely, LL
