SMALL GROUP MEETINGS Don't go it alone! Join other parents at your school or at your workplace who have similar needs and concerns.
An initial fee of $400 covers a meeting and/or phone conference (to define needs, problems, and goals) and a written action plan of recommended problem-solving strategies, resources, and next steps.
Additional time for phone and email questions, meetings, consulting, research or writing may be reserved in four hour units by a retainer of $400 ($100/hr). Time spent against the retainer is billed in fifteen-minute units ($25) and will be listed on a statement of charges. Unused retainer will be returned upon request.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Presentations, workshops and professional inservice programs can be designed for schools, parent groups, workplaces and conferences. Fees vary with length of program, setting and size of audience. Please go to Workshops for more information on planning a program.
DOCUMENT REVIEW $100 per hour to develop recommendations for writing or improving Individual Educational Plans (IEPs), Individual Health Plans (IHPs), and 504 Accommodation Plans.
INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES $100 per hour to develop an advocacy agenda and instructional plan with curriculum options for students who are missing school time because of illness or unsafe school environments.
Consultation/Advocacy Fee Agreement The goal of consultation and advocacy is to facilitate collaboration among the family, school, and health care providers and to maximize carry-over from class to class and year to year. An initial fee of $360.00 is for four (4) hours of services.
The fee includes a CASE FILE review, a one to two-hour consultation in person or by phone to identify needs and to establish advocacy goals, and a written action plan that includes recommended problem-solving strategies and next steps.
You can reserve additional meeting or phone time for planning, consulting, research, program or policy reviews, document preparation or correspondence in four-hour units at the rate of $90.00 per hour.
Some schools and parents work with Healthy Kids on a retainer basis. The retainer in the client account assures you access to a variety of Healthy Kids services such as emails or phone consult calls, IEP, IHP and S. 504 plan reviews, individual or school needs assessments, anticipatory guidance and transition planning, drafting, updating and editing documents such as letters, policies and position statements, and planning programs and workshops for parents and school staff. Time spent against the retainer is billed in fifteen-minute units. Unused retainer will be returned upon request.

EXPLANATION OF FEES: A fee is charged for services including: a review of documents, telephone calls, reading and writing emails, meetings, meeting preparation and follow up, writing letters and drafting and revising documents such as proposals for your child's Individualized Health Plan, Individualized Education Plan, and Section 504 Plan. The Initial Consultation Fee of $360.00 represents four hours of services. It includes a "Case File" review, a consultation in person or by phone, and then a written Action Plan including 1) a statement of the child's needs, 2) advocacy goals, and 3) recommendations for next steps.
The Consulting Retainer: Based on the "Action Plan," I will estimate additional consulting time and costs. Additional planning, consulting, research or writing time is charged at the rate of $90.00 per hour. School meetings are $175/hour. Time spent against the retainer will be billed in fifteen-minute units and will be listed on a statement of charges. I will ask you to replenish the retainer by an amount determined by the estimated time projected for additional consultations, meetings or document preparation. I will refund any unused amount, upon request, if we conclude the advocacy agreement prior to the time covered by the remainder of the retainer.
You may also choose to leave funds in your account to cover additional consultation time to be used for additional consultation or document review at times of transition, as new issues emerge, or when your child's needs change.
